Members Team up During AmeriCorps Week

Our kick off for AmeriCorps Week included our members participating in the Human Race held in Ukiah on May 9, 2009.  Members organized a booth which marketed AmeriCorps and all it has to offer. They also participated in the race along with the Laytonville Lady Warriors, a running group organized by the HealthCorps Members.

On Saturday, May 16th, the Community HealthCorps Members of Northern California joined the members of Lifelong Medical Care for a day of community service.  They volunteered at the AIDS Memorial Garden of Golden Gate Park in San Franciso.  After a morning of gardening (pulling weeds!), and making friends, members were treated to a lunch provided by the donors to the AIDS organization and Hands On Bay Area.  Members plan to join together again, along with Central Valley Health Network and Family HealthCare Network for a Life After AmeriCorps retreat at the end of June.
