Celebrating 20 Years of AmeriCorps & Healthy Futures!

As the largest national AmeriCorps program focused on health, Community HealthCorps® is thrilled to join in celebrating the 2th anniversary of AmeriCorps. In 1993, President Clinton signed the National and Community Service Trust Act into law, creating both the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and AmeriCorps. To date, over 820,000 Americans have served more than one billion hours through AmeriCorps, tackling the nation’s most critical social issues in health, education, environmental stewardship, economic opportunity, disaster relief, and veteran and military family assistance. In celebration of the colossal impact made possible by AmeriCorps in the past 20 years, CNCS launched a year-long anniversary celebration in September 2013.

During the month of March, AmeriCorps programs focusing on improving health were spotlighted by CNCS as a part of the anniversary celebration. Click the images or links below to check out how the impact of AmeriCorps members serving with Community HealthCorps® was featured throughout the month of March.
